POWERSOURCE PERFORMANCE ENGINES REWARDING BIG 8 SERIES’ ‘UNSUNG HERO!’

By: Eric Huenefeld

Powersource Performance Engines of Ingleside Illinois has been a long-time supporter of the Big 8 Late Model Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet and short track racing in our region. At the conclusion of the 2014 racing season, Powersource will continue its support of local racers with a show of appreciation and generosity that recognizes one of the Big 8 Series’ ‘unsung heroes.’

Beginning this season, Powersource Performance Engines will hand out the ‘Unsung Hero Award’ at the Big 8 Late Model Series Championship Banquet in January. The ‘Unsung Hero Award’ will go to a driver who finishes no higher than sixth in final series points and has attended a minimum of 75% of the series’ events. The ‘Unsung Hero Award’ is designed to recognize the grassroots racer who supports the series wherever it goes. The Unsung Hero prize package includes a free engine rebuild, including all labor, valued at over $2000.

Powersource Performance Engines was founded over 20 years ago to supply quality performance engines and machine work to the nation’s finest oval track and endurance racers. Through the years, Powersouce has expanded its reach into the marine, street performance, and vintage market. Powersource has also become a familiar name on the regional short track racing scene, powering several top racers in recent years. Since 2008, the Powersource ‘Power Mover of the Race’ $100 bonus has been awarded to the driver who advances the most positions in each and every Big 8 Series feature event.
